Going to the Pumpkin Farm

As well as Apple Orchard we also went to the Pumpkin Farm. This time we went with Auntie Beth, Grandma, Haley, and Matt. We had a lot of fun. This was our first time at this farm and they had a lot to do. We ventured through the ropes maze, jumped in the pumpkin, raced rubber ducks, had a peddle race, played in the corn pit and went on the zoo train. The train was a lot faster and bumpier than we thought it would be. We also shared a bucket of mini doughnuts that all of the kids loved. It was a great time!

Going to the Apple Orchard

This year we went to a lot of different Apple Orchards. Ayden even asked if we could go to the zoo because he was sick of going to the apple orchard. This is the one we went to with just the 4 of us. We went on the hay ride, through the hay maze, and had apple brats for lunch. It was a beautiful day and a great time!

Starting School

As many of you know I am not doing too well adjusting to both of my boys being in school full time. But life doesn't seem to care what I am feeling. Ayden is to start Kindergarten, going full day every day. I am excited for him, but also sad. He is very excited! We got to go to his class where he found his seat spot and he got to see his own locker, which made him very happy!

Camping at White Water State Park

This summer we spent half of a week at White Water State Park. We decided the boys were old enough to go for a little longer than we have before. Al and I were just not sure if we were too old to go for that long :) But we went longer and had a great time! We had a great camp site right near the water and not too close to everyone else. It didn't take too long to get everything set up and we were off to explore. We also tried our hand at Geo caching. The boys had a great time using the GPS and finding the "treasure" box.

More of our camping trip...

A lot of our camping trip was spent in the river. It was really nice because our camp site was right next to the river. The boys had a lot of fun swimming, jumping in, and floating down the river. It was absolutely freezing to get into, but still fun.

Family Camp Trip, finished...

To finish out our camping trip...we attended a naturalist class about beavers. There are a lot of beavers along the White Water River. We learned about the special thing about a beaver that helps it to survive. Ayden got to be the beaver with all of the attributes. Then we went along the river with binoculars and looked for signs that the beavers were there. We saw gnawed off tree branches and trails made by their tails. To round out our trip the boys also learned how more about fishing and ended the night with sparklers. The fishing wasn't great due to the time of the day, but they also had a great time practicing. We were told there were a lot of trout in the river, but none were caught by us.

Father's Day 2011

This year for Father's Day (Saturday before) we were planing on going on a boat ride down the St. Croix with the Conner side of the family. Well, due to our wet spring we were rained out so we all worked on the fence for the pool. On actual Father's Day we went up to the cabin on a chilly day. We visited with Mark, fished, rode the tractor, and went on a boat ride. The boys and I gave Al a photo book of our 1st family camping trip. It was a fun day!
