Ayden's Broken Arm Part 1

Ayden's Big Day...
Here are our pictures of the beginning of our day. At first Ayden was not okay, we knew something big was wrong because he was crying so much, which is weird for him. Once he said that he couldn't feel his arm and we looked we could see right away that something was wrong. So off we went to the ER. Of corse we thought we should be seen right away, it is our son, but the nurses have their own plan. We were concerned because he was so tired and only wanted to go to sleep, but that wore off while we were waiting. So after waiting about 2 and a half hours we were seen for x-rays. Once they came on the screen we could see the broken radius and ulna. He broke them about an inch away from his wrist. After the doctors saw that they knew they had to put him under and push the bones back together. So the rest of this part are the pictures of him getting ready for that procedure. We were in a fully stocked ER room because there was a slight chance of breathing problems while under this med. But all was well and he did great! All the nurses and doctors thought he was doing really well once they saw how his arm was broken.

Ayden's Broken Arm Part 2

Here is the results of Ayden's Day...
As you can see we were trying our hardest to keep Ayden still, he was really bored! The next pictures are of his arm before they put the bones back together. They obviously had to put him under for this part and politely asked us to leave the room because when the doctor put the bones back together we were going to hear a crack and for some reason some parents don't react well to this. Truth be told I was a little disappointed,
I wanted to watch. So after the 10 minutes it took for the doctors to work he was all put back together. Here he has on his temporary cast, he gets his permanent one on Thursday. This is to allow the arm to swell while it heals. Then there he is in the car with his new bear on the way to Walgreens for his drugs :) So here is Ayden's story in pictures.

Ayden's 5th Birthday

Here are a few pictures of Ayden's 5th Birthday. At his party it rained a lot and since we were swimming at the lake and playing in the sprinklers I didn't get any pictures, but did get some video. So once I learn how to download said video I will try and post it, but here are some pictures of him opening his presents. He received many Toy Story 3 lego sets that the boys love! He also received an Iron Man 2 Toy, a baseball bat, and a bucket of baseballs.

Gardening with Grandpa part III

So here are my last set of pictures from gardening. We have already reaped a harvest from the labor, which was mostly dads, and it has been tasty. Mom has canned beans and beets. We are waiting a little on the tomatoes. God has given us a very wet summer so all of this has helped. I also forgot that we planted sunflowers. I will try and get a pictures of the finished results, they are huge and beautiful!

Gardening with Grandpa part II

So here are some more pictures of us gardening. You can see what an excellent gardner dad is, his rows are so straight! We planted many items: Pole Beans, white onions, beets (yeah!), carrots, tomatoes, squash, pumpkins, green peppers, and tried potatoes, but learned you must use the right kind of potatoes, so maybe next year for those. Dad had also tried asparagus, but killed them on accident with weed spray, oops :)

Gardening with Grandpa part I

I am finally getting the pictures on here of all of us planting the garden for this summer. After dad did all of the prep work we got to joy in the "easy" work of dropping the seeds. It was a lot of fun and a nice day, weather wise.

One of the Boys favorite things to do

Again here are some pictures of the boys playing at the park. This is one of their favorite things to do with Al. It always amazes me what they come up with to play. They are quit imaginative and Al is right along with them. This is one of the traits he had to develop as an only child growing up that has come in handy as a dad.

Ben's Field Day

Here are a few pictures of Ben's field day at Rum River. I was able to go see him do all of the events and he had a really good time! It is always fun to see the boys do things that I remember doing myself as a child. It just makes me feel very old. It is also amazing to sit back and watch him interact with his friends and teachers. He is growing into an amazing young man.

Ben's Mo-hawk

At Ben's school they had wacky hair day. So I asked if he wanted to participate. They had done this at CHA, but he did not want to get made fun of so he chose to not participate. This time he said yes, he did want to participate. So we started the mo-hawk. I kept making sure he wanted me to continue and he continued to say yes. Here is our process and the end result. It even stayed up the whole day! He was very proud that his was the tallest in his class.

James & Mandy's Trip to see us: Shooting Part 1

We had a great time shooting...here are some pictures of that time.

James & Mandy's Trip to see us: Shooting Part 2

Here are the pictures of our shooting afternoon. This was Ben and Ayden's first time shooting. We all had a good time and found that Ben is a natural at it. Al wasn't too bad either.
